CAAF Vehicle Support Facility

This project consists of a two-story slab-on-grade, pre-engineered metal building frame structure with a concrete/metal composite upper floor deck, over the storage room/communications room/air compressor room/battery room portion of the building only, supported by steel bar joists bearing on c.m.u. walls with a total gross square footage of 12,200. The building shall support Vehicle Maintenance and Accessory Vehicle Storage operations and includes office and accessory spaces as well.

This project was one of the first awarded MILCON transformation projects in the country. Due to the MILCON transformation project requirements, strict schedule guidelines and work performance was monitored throughout construction. Lyle Cook Martin Architects was the Architect of Record for the very first MILCON transformation project in the country prior to this D/B project. This project also includes full ATFP (anti-terrorism force protection) requirements.

This project has previously received numerous high rating performance evaluations from the Project Engineer for the USACE.
